8 Ocak 1919 tarihinde kurulan American Society of Cinematographers (Amerikan Görüntü Yönetmenleri Birliği), kuruluşunun 100. yıl dönümünde sinematografik açıdan 20. yüzyıla damga vuran 100 filmi seçti. 20. yüzyılda sinematografi denilince akla gelen en yetkin örneklerden Apocalypse Now, Lawrence of Arabia, The Conformist gibi yapımlar listede ilk onda yer alırken, usta görüntü yönetmeni Vittorio Storaro da iki yapımla ilk onda yer alarak taçlandırılmış oldu.
